Off To Gilwell, Happy Land!

I've been traveling a lot over the past two weeks on business, and found myself in London this past Friday with no work commitments.

So... with all of the museums, history, and other things to see and do in London, can you guess what I did? I went to Gilwell Park, home of the first Woodbadge course.

While it should rank higher on the tourism circuit, Gilwell Park is pretty far off the beaten path. It doesn't even show up on the typical tourist maps, but fortunately I was Prepared.

From Central London, it takes about an hour to get there -- 30 minutes by train, and then 20-30 minutes of walking (uphill) along the side of a road. Certainly, a museum in South Kensington would have been less exhausting, but it was well worth the effort.
