September Shutdowns...

I thought it would be a little easier to consolidate these into a single post, given they're pretty small...

August 28... Zoom

Zoom had a mish-mosh of routes between North America and UK/Europe. They'd been in business for seven years, had three 767-300s and two 757-200s, but just couldn't hold on any longer with fuel prices being where they are. It also didn't help that two of their aircraft were seized by creditors in the past day or two (one in GLA and one in YYC)...

August 13... Gemini Air Cargo

Gemini filed for bankruptcy two months ago, and failed to find a bidder to keep them alive. Their fleet was reduced down to 4 MD11F's after the Ch.11 filing, and they converted that to a Ch.7 liquidation on August 15th. They'd been flying wet leased cargo ops for Lufthansa, FedEx, and a few other European carriers.
