The Smells of Christmas
Some people love the smell of the holidays.... I, frankly, dread them.
I don't know what it was about Christmas dinner, but it was a good thing we had candles lit, because the winds were blowing harder than a Category 5 hurricane...
Following Christmas dinner, we all sat down to watch a movie... I think I lasted about 30 minutes before I finally had to get up for some air. I'd love to blame it on the dogs, but they were huddled outside. Usually, they want to be inside with us when we're home.
Not this week. At one point, they were both sitting by the door, begging to be released...
Maybe it was the potatoes, or the green bean casserole. Perhaps the dinner rolls? Dunno.
We used to have a similar problem on road trips. After careful research, it was discovered that Doritos in the red bag caused a nasty chemical reaction with one of us who shall remain nameless (I don't like Doritos, so that will probably narrow down the list)....
It never failed. 20 or 30 miles into a bag of chips, we'd start reaching to open windows.... The problem was more pronounced in the truck than it was in the van. Even with all the airspace in the Winnie, we were not immune from the effects of Person X's crop-dusting....
I'd lke to say we finally banned Doritos. I tried. Really. But I was over-ruled....
We're now on our third day of leftovers, and I'll be glad to see them disappear. So will the dogs. It's getting cold outside, and they've had to make a tradeoff over the past three or four days...
